The Hanmer Springs Mountain Bike Club spends countless hours and lots of bucks to maintain these trails. One way to support the club is by purchasing a map from the information centre which gives all of the trail and forest access information and helps out the club. Proceeds from the map go back to the club and into trail maintenance and development.
Also, look out for the Hammerhead race, held on the first Sunday of December each year as another way of supporting the efforts of the club in Hanmer.
Detox Track is a nice short fun down hill run with good flow. It is only a few minutes bike up the road back to the top, so it's well worth a couple of runs.
The Dog Stream Track starts off at a very easy gradient beside Dog Stream. Once you get onto the Jolliffe Saddle Track, the gradient becomes much steeper and becomes a challenging climb up to the saddle before a sometimes technical decent back down towards Pawsons Rd.
The Tank Track at Hanmer is great single track through the forest with a good mix of technical and flowing riding. After an initial climb, the Yankee Zephyr is a fast, flowing downhill ride that will see you going back for more.
